Content Moderation Policy
Our guidelines for maintaining a safe, accurate, and trustworthy community directory.
Prohibited Content
To ensure Kingston Care Connect remains a safe and reliable resource, the following content is strictly prohibited:
- Spam or Advertising: Unsolicited commercial content or promotional material unrelated to social services.
- Defamatory Content: False information intended to harm the reputation of an organization or individual.
- Privacy Violations: Personal information about individuals (e.g., staff home addresses) without their consent.
- Hateful Content: Speech that promotes violence or discrimination based on race, religion, disability, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Fraudulent Information: Intentionally misleading service descriptions or eligibility criteria.
User Submissions
When submitting services or feedback to KCC:
- All submissions are reviewed by our team before publication (except for immediate feedback which is internal).
- We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, length, and formatting (while maintaining accuracy).
- We reserve the right to reject submissions that do not meet our inclusion criteria or violate this policy.
Reporting Process
If you encounter problematic content:
- Use the 'Report Issue' button found on every service listing page.
- For privacy or safety concerns, email privacy@careconnect.ca.
- We aim to review and respond to reports within 5 business days.
- You may report content anonymously, though providing contact info helps us verify the claim.
Appeals Process
If your listing submission was rejected or your content removed:
- You may appeal the decision by contacting moderation@careconnect.ca.
- Please provide specific evidence supporting your appeal (e.g., official website links, registration documents).
- Final decisions are made by the KCC Governance Committee.
